Page 6 - Fantastic action photos as the GB Acrobats compete for the British Championships Titles!
GB Internationals went head to head in the battle for British Championships 2007 Titles in an exciting Event which was televised by BGTV. And with the big screen capturing all the action, British Acrobatics took a giant leap into the multi media future which is so important to the sport’s development, and hopefully increased media exposure, which is vital to help win sponsorship and increased funding in the U.K. This could help achieve the ultimate goal of recognition for Sports Acrobatics and Tumbling as Olympic Sports.
Harefield’s Ciara McGrath, Katherine Smith and Jess Dangerfield demonstrated beautiful technique as the girls hoped to build on the remarkable progress they have worked so hard to achieve. After winning Silver in the 2005 11-16 British Championships, followed by joint Gold in the 2005 British Tournament, the girls won the British Title in the 12-19 Womens Groups in 2006, and were selected to represent Great Britain at the International Age Group Championships in Coimbra. They achieved a remarkable 2nd place after Qualifications and finished in 7th place in the IAGC Finals on their International debuts. In December they won bronze at the Bondarev Cup in Belarus in a high quality field, and after missing the Bristol International the Harefield girls were determined to claim their 2nd consecutive British Title.
